Final Score: Eagles 26 v Magnet 7 (W)

A strong performance from Eagles U12s landed the team a 26-7 win against Magnet on Sunday.

The first quarter proved tougher than expected, with Magnet landing some good interceptions and, at one point leading the game. Eagles tightened up their passing and finished the quarter 6-4. Great shooting from Eden in GS, with Dane and Marta in defence at GD and GK.

Eagles found some good form in the second quarter, with some changes in defence and attack – Helena moving to GD, Marta to GA and Freya to WD. This led to a faster-paced game and combined with some great shooting from Marta and Eden, Eagles finished the quarter 16-6.

With Amelia taking over as GS, Ruby in WD, the match started to have some exciting moments. Outstanding defensive play from Helena and Dane in GD and GK, resulted in Magnet failing to score a single goal in the quarter, finishing 22-6 with 12 minutes to go.

Some further changes, with Priya coming on as GD, Freya moving to C and Issy achieving some great interceptions, the match finished 26-7.

Well done girls on a great performance. Helena nominated players player, but some great performances, particularly from the defence.
