Final Score: Eagles 51 v Meon 47 (W)
After a comfortable win in the previous game, the pressure was on Eagles 2 to pull off another victory. Today’s game proved to be an arduous experience.
From the very beginning, Eagles had to work hard to shut down their opponents, Meon. Eagles ended the first quarter four goals ahead but knew they had much more to do.
It was a frustrating second quarter for Eagles with some unforced errors and a new-found energy by Meon. They closed the gap to just two goals by half-time.
With some team changes in the third quarter, Eagles were tougher on court and persisted to turn over balls. At one point they were six goals up but Meon, determined not to be beaten, came fighting back. Eagles ended the third quarter three goals ahead; the pressure was on to not let this game slip away after 45 minutes of hard work.
Support from the home crowd had a positive impact on Eagles in the final quarter. They were more vocal on court and Meon were visibly shaken by the energy and commitment displayed by their opponents. Thrilled with the win, the final score was 51-47 to Eagles.
