Final Score: Eagles 32 v Weston Park Blades 32 (D)
Our third U14 South Region match against Western Park Blades was very difficult but an excellent match to watch. The whole team fought hard ending with an amazing draw of 32-32!
The first half started a little bit slow and we were behind a few nets, lacking strength in our passes, but both attack and defence worked hard at turning the ball over and by half time we were down 23-13, however the team did not let this get us down.
The second half was thrilling to watch and the entire team worked incredibly hard. Attack were making space and communicating to get the ball speedily down the court and into the hands of our shooters with a full burst of energy.
The defence let hardly any ball in the circle and managed to intercept most balls coming their way. The teams spirits lifted immensely. There were a few mistakes which were forced as the speed picked up because everyone got overly excited but we managed to score the final goal making the result 32-32!
Well done to all the girls who played for their hard work and their exceptional effort. Also a big congratulations to Melinda for getting voted player of the match by Western Park Blades, it was very well deserved.
