Congratulations to our U17s who won the England Netball U17 National Club Cup South on Sunday. And our U15s were just behind them, finishing as runners up in the U15 competition.

The U17s were unbeaten all day, winning against Magic, Sparks and Thoroughbreds in the group stage, Manor in the quarter finals and Teignbridge Titans in the semi-finals. The final was played against our Netball South rivals MK Dons, with Eagles coming away as 23-15 winners.

The entire squad played consistently well throughout the day, with all 12 girls slotting seamlessly into the team as the coaches rotated the squad.

The U15s played on Saturday, and two wins against Hatfield and Manor earned them a place in the quarter finals. They beat our Berkshire neighbours B’s in the quarter finals and then MK Netters in the semi-final. The final was against Teignbridge Titans, who they had lost to in the group stage. In a very close final, Teignbridge just beat Eagles by 22-21.

These competitions were run by England Netball for the U17 and U15 age groups as they were unable to hold last season’s U16 and U14 Nationals due to COVID. Eagles U17s will now go forward to play in a playoff with Oldham and Charnwood, winners of the North and Midlands competitions.
