Kicking off the second match of 2019, it was a slow start from Eagles with some good pressure from B’s right from the first whistle. But the team started to move the ball well and with some accurate shooting, they started gaining some momentum. B’s kept up the pressure and with some unforced errors from Eagles, it was close going into the second quarter, with Eagles leading 9-5.
The pace continued in Q2 with the B’s continuing to pressure Eagles. At the end of the half there was just four points in it with Eagles leading 14-10
Eagles came out determined in the third quarter and really came together as a team. The defenders applied the pressure and with many interceptions they were able to keep B’s to just two points. With some excellent passing up and down the court and good movement in the circle resulted in a string of goals. Eagles were able to extend their lead to 24-12.
Taking this momentum into the final quarter, Eagles kept up the pressure and with some great goals from the shooters, the Eagles team put together one of their best games of the season with a final score of 35-17. A great performance overall and contribution from two U11’s playing up – Annabel and Rhiannon, who both played really well and were a huge asset to the team.
