In their first match after the Christmas break, the U12b team got off to a slow start. With inconsistent passing and timing, the team struggled to feed into the shooters. Finch applied some strong pressure and the first quarter finished with a close score of 5-4 to Eagles.
The team finally found their rhythm in the second and third quarters, battling against some strong defence from Finch. The girls were able to work more closely as a team, with improved passing, better movement and accurate feeds into the circle. The defence also worked hard with some key interceptions and rebounds. With some fantastic shooting from Holly and Imogen, Eagles were up 23 – 6 by end of the third quarter.
Finch roared back in the fourth quarter determined to make up some lost ground. With some great shooting and defense, Finch never gave up. Eagles struggled with the increased pressure but were able to hold on, winning 25-12 at the final whistle.
Great job to Finch for never giving up and applying some tough pressure throughout the match.
