Final Score: Eagles U11B 16 - 8 Bracknell B’s (W)
After a tough loss earlier this season to the Bs and sitting third in the league behind the Bs, the Eagles U11B team were looking for a good result in the match this Sunday.
The first quarter started out fairly evenly between the two teams with some pressure being applied by the Eagles defenders and good shooting from Imogen B and Emily to end the quarter 3-4 to Eagles.
But it was the second and third quarters that the defenders really upped the pressure, holding the B’s to just 1 goal in total. Great defending by Eloise and Imogen F and interceptions by Lucy, Maddie and Nina helped increase turnovers. Good rebounding from GKs Millie and Ruby led to obvious frustration from the Bs and allowed Eagles to take a 13-4 lead going into the fourth quarter.
The Eagles were getting a bit tired by the fourth quarter but the defence were still applying pressure to B’s and accurate shooting from Imogen B and Evie helped to increase the lead with final score 8-16 to the Eagles. Overall great teamwork by the Eagles with some great defence, accurate shooting and minimal errors provided a confident win for the team.
Emily Bell was given POM for her excellent shooting and defence in the middle of the court.
With one match yet to play due to cancellation last week against Woodley, who Eagles have beaten previously, the Eagles U11B team could finish runners-up for the season. With a mixture of newer, younger players and a few older experienced members, the B team has had a successful season really coming together as a team and getting some great results.
